Even in the midst of Covid 81% of our Year 10 students managed to undertake a live work experience placement in 2022. Those that didn't were supported in school working in various departments, accessing employability work modules and some visiting the local Co-op store to find out about food and the retail sector.
Chloe spent her time with us at Wellesley Park. She had a wonderful attitude and worked exceptionally hard to get to know the children she was working with. She worked alongside different year groups and taught a PE session (football) to our Year 6 children. She was always on time and showed respect and integrity, we really enjoyed having her as part of our team. I cannot fault her attitude and willingness - she took every opportunity to support the wider school.
Emily came to Taunton Library for her work experience and appeared to enjoy herself. She assisted with a variety of tasks such as discharging items returned and discharging items from the van deliveries, shelving, looking for shelf checks, joining new members, releasing printing, and answering enquiries from the public. Emily also assisted with Baby Boogie and Storytime and with a craft event. Emily was also shown the 3D printer and made a key ring and shown our new interactive projection system known as OMI. Emily was always cheerful, friendly, punctual, and willing to take on any task give her. Nothing seemed to phase her and apparently her favourite part was discharging the books. She appeared a very confident person and was a credit to the school.
Thank you, Riley was very professional, was a pleasure having him work with us, Riley worked with the two main Installers Mike and Lee, he carried out many tasks working on a large project in Batts Park, Taunton. The client even commented on how polite he was and how hard he worked even in the hot weather we had.
Just like to say that Leo seems like a good student. Quiet, but takes direction well and listens intently to what I had to say. Seems to have a good grasp on what we were doing.
