At this time, students can feel a mixture of emotions
– excitement at the prospect of new opportunities, nervousness at the scale of
a secondary school and the number of new people to be met, and a little sad to
be leaving the primary school they know so well. We hope to remove any worries
during the Transition Days in July when all the students who will be
transferring in September come for a two-day experience of life at our school,
ready for their start in September.
During the two day students meet their tutor, new friends
and staff at the school. Students are supported by our Year 7 Transition
Leaders who went through the same experience the year before.
Students take part in a range of activities from Icebreakers
to treasure hunts around the school. The second day students experience a range
of lessons to get to know more about the school.
In October we host Year 7 residential at The Ultimate Adventure Centre in Bideford. I will be writing to you later this week with secure information.
